Graeme Webster MEd RCC
REGISTERED CLINICAL COUNSELLOR
The goal of Graeme's relationship work is to help create a mutually satisfying way to be happy and fulfilled as an individual and as a partner, and discover ways in which we can appreciate our differences. She has been in practice with the centre since 1988, specializing in family counselling, couples' work, and other relationship issues as a Registered Clinical Counsellor. Her interest in families has been long standing, having raised three children and currently enjoying the joys of being a grandmother.
Her one-on-one counselling ranges from childhood and family to work related issues. In these cases, unfinished business and unresolved past conflicts often cause people to continue in behavior patterns that can lead to depression or anxiety and increasing conflict in relationships. By using Gestalt therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and EMDR, Graeme helps people to resolve those old issues and create a fulfilling life. Another of Graeme's specialties is families and individuals with addiction. She works with the understanding that everyone in the family suffers when someone they love abuses alcohol or drugs, inappropriately uses behaviours such as gambling and sex, or uses work to distance themselves from feelings of vulnerability. By educating everyone involved on addictive cycle and what they might be doing to enable it to continue, and using self-help groups such as AA and AlAnon, in combination with individual, couple and family counselling, Graeme's approach forms an inclusive treatment plan to wellness.
