Jennifer van Wyck

Jennifer van Wyck M.A. is a dynamic thinker and an encouraging agent of change for her clients while simultaneously providing nonjudgmental support.  She has worked with diverse groups of adults, adolescents and children encouraging growth and addressing various problems and emotional difficulties.  Her focus is on empowering clients of all ages and she is highly regarded for her individual and group work. She has helped many couples, families and individuals reach their potential and lead more fulfilling lives.

 

Jennifer’s clients appreciate her ability to work in the moment, addressing present life issues efficiently. She uses a variety of techniques and tools that are tailored to each client, including emotion focused therapy (EFT), visualization techniques and breathing exercises. She has collaborated with many of her clients to overcome the overwhelming burden of grief, trauma, depression, and anxiety and the debilitating effects that this can have.

 

Jennifer van Wyck M.A. believes not only in contributing to the community she lives in but additionally participating in the global community. To this end she has done conflict resolution in remote areas of Africa and The Philippines and devoted a year in Haiti where she counselled victims of the 2010 earthquake.


Jennifer is well known for her work in conflict resolution, empowerment and trauma yet her training and experience is multifaceted.  Her research and training include depression and anxiety, anger and stress management, addictions, postpartum depression, couples therapy and parenting support. She has done many presentations on Anger, Trauma, and Stress Management, as well as Integrated Healing and Conflict Resolution.

 

As well as being an Associate at Alyson Jones & Associates, she is also a training coordinator at the Adler School of Professional Psychology and a Consultant for Cameray Child and Family Services.
