Registered Clinical Counsellor
Linda Heel has been a Registered Clinical Counsellor since 1995. As a teacher, counsellor, wife, mother and grandmother, Linda has a comprehensive background and life experiences to draw upon. Linda brings this wealth of experience to her work with adolescents, parents, families, individuals and couples. She has a particular interest in working with women as they transition through the various stages of their lives.
As a counsellor, Linda has helped her clients work on issues ranging from parenting, parent/teen conflict, adolescent issues to grief, anger management and personal growth. One of her specialties is working with addictive behaviours and their impact on family members. Linda also supports individuals and couples to develop and find their own voice, thus fostering greater intimacy and connection with others.
Linda’s approach concentrates on helping youth and adults recognize and build their strengths and resiliency. Through her warmth and encouragement Linda helps her clients gain greater awareness and understanding for making positive life choices. To support her clients’ growth, she can also consult with schools and other professionals as the need arises.
Linda has a certificate in Conflict Resolution from The Justice Institute of BC. Linda spent 23 years counselling in an educational setting. She is also a Faculty Advisor in the Teaching Program at the University of British Columbia.
