For the past 10 years, Dr. Ferrari has provided counselling services in private practice, EFAP, non-profit community agencies and mental health settings. Her background includes training and experience working with children, adolescents, families and adults who are experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, seperation/divorce, parent-child conflict, and stress. She provides assessments for children and adolescents dealing with social-emotional, behavioral, and academic concerns. Her theoretical orientation involves aligning the client goals and values and incorporating cognitive-behavioral, family systems and expressive therapy approaches.
Lisa received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Seattle. In Washington State, Dr. Ferrari trained with Andrew Benjamin, J.D., Ph.D., in the Parenting Evaluation Training Program (PETP). As a result of this training she has been working with families going through a divorce who need parenting plans, as well as post-divorce Co-parenting therapy. She has also received training in Collaborative Separation and Divorce acting as a child specialist or a divorce coach to help families with healthy dispute resolution process. Dr. Ferrari also holds a Masters of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology and post-graduate training in Art Therapy and is an adjunct faculty member at the Adler School for Professional Psychology. In addition to her practice at Alyson Jones and Associates, Lisa provides clinical supervision to counsellors working in community organizations. She has led psycho-educational groups for parents, as well as provided consultation services and workshops to school personnel, on supporting children with various behavioral and emotional difficulties in the classroom.
