Alyson is thrilled to be speaking to an international audience in Rome, Italy from September 22nd -23rd, 2018. She will be attending the IAC (International Association of Counselling) event to present:

Multidisciplinary Interventions for Attachment Disruptions caused by High Conflict Divorces

This presentation fits well into the sub-themes of the conference as it pertains to complex family dynamics that are seen in family therapy and family law matters.

The presentation would fit into the following categories.

  • Multidisciplinary lenses in the counselling profession
  • Evolution of inter-professional collaboration
  • Counselling practice: issues and challenges in different cultural contexts

Divorce is a reality in most cultures, but it is widely recognized that a high conflict divorce adversely effects children and devastates family both psychologically and financially. This presentation approaches psychological interventions for attachment disruptions through the multidisciplinary lens of family law, attachment theory and family therapy. The innovative approaches that will be presented are the next step in a structured inter-professional collaboration, and are currently being practiced in innovative programs.
