Psychoeducational Assessment

Psychological and educational assessments are a means of evaluating cognitive ability, educational attainment or personality characteristics. These assessments are based on four pillars of psychological assessment: norm referenced tests, interviews, observations and informal assessment. While an assessment can help identify problems, it can also be extremely beneficial where no problem exists such as enhancing a child’s already good performance in school and making it even better. With information from a psychological and educational assessment, parents can work with teachers to best plan for their child’s educational needs.
