Four Tips for MORE Merriment this Holiday Season

Posted on by Alyson Jones. Posted in Seasonal.

Since the Yuletide comes but once a year, this time is precious, fleeting and oh so dear!

Hold onto the season and share the cheer.  In order to experience MORE merriment and joy, here are four simple tips that can make a big difference in your holiday season;

  1. Be in the moment.  Do the following five senses check-in.  Pay attention to what you see, smell, hear, taste and touch.  This will bring you back to the moment and allow your senses to partake of the best the season has to offer.
  2. Remember to breathe.  Take 2-5 minutes a day and quiet you mind and pay attention to your breathing.  You will be more aware and present for the rest of the day.  It is amazing how a few brief moments of focus and relaxation can fuel an entire day.
  3. Stay grateful.  Tell yourself at least three things you are grateful for each day.  Focus on the people and experiences that nourish you and do not let “overwhelm” rob you of the experiences you actually cherish.   Be grateful for those you are with or those you are missing.
  4. Pay attention to the intention.  Remind yourself that connections, caring and contributions are at the core of the holiday season.   If you concentrate on those three things you will experience much merriment and joy during the holidays.

Wishing merriment and festivities to you all!
